Facebook introduces new tool to help people spot false news

Facebook has introduced what it said an educational tool in order to help people spot false news.

“We’re featuring this tool at the top of News Feed for a few days to people on Facebook in 14 countries,” the Facebook said.
It said when users will click on the took, they will see more information and resources in the Facebook Help Centre including tips on how to spot false news, such as checrking the URL of the site, investigating the source and looking for other reports on the topic.

“False news is harmful to our community, it makes the world less informed, and it erodes trust. It’s not a new phenomenon, and all of us — tech companies, media companies, newsrooms, teachers — have a responsibility to do our part in addressing it. At Facebook, we’re working to fight the spread of false news in three key areas,” the Facebook said.
The facebook said it is working to fight  the spread of false news in three key areas that include:
1- Disrupting economic incentives because most false news is financially motivated;
2-Building new products to curb the spread of false news; and
3-Helping people make more informed decisions when they encounter false news.
